SHE 2024 Celebrates Outstanding Achievements of Malaysian Women Entrepreneurs

Kuala Lumpur, 8 November 2024 – The ShangHai Honourable Women Entrepreneur Business Award (SHE) 2024 ceremony, organized by ShangHai Business Media, kicked off in grand fashion at EQ Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. As one of Malaysia’s most distinguished awards dedicated to women in business, the gala dinner gathered over 400 entrepreneurs in glamorous attendance to witness and celebrate the remarkable achievements of women entrepreneurs.

Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, the SHE Award aims to recognize outstanding accomplishments by women in the business arena and to celebrate the inspiring legacies they have built in their respective fields. More than just a form of recognition, this award seeks to encourage more young women to embody entrepreneurial spirit, contributing to both economic growth and community development.

Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in building sustainable economic development. The 2024 award ceremony commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests, including Malaysian Senator YB Datuk Seri Dr. Hajah Zurainah and her spouse YBhg. Datuk Sohrab Nasodari Nariman, CEO of ShangHai Media Sdn Bhd Datin Dr. Cherlin Cheah, Co-founder of SBS Group Elaine Piah, Founder of aW Communications and Honorary Advisor of ShangHai DBusiness Media Wong Chui Ling, President of MICA Dato’ Dr. Angie Ng, Chairwoman of BNC Women Division Dr. Coco Wong, and Chief Marketing Officer of PropNex Malaysia Yuki Wan.

This year, six respected female figures from Malaysia’s business scene were invited to serve as professional judges: Datin Dr. Cherlin Cheah, Wong Chui Ling, Dr. Coco Wong, Yuki Wan, National Deputy President of the SME Association of Malaysia Datin Dorph, and President of the Branding Association of Malaysia Datin Winnie Loo. They were tasked with selecting qualified and deserving women entrepreneurs based on strict criteria.

Notable recipients of the SHE 2024 include former First Lady of Malaysia YABHG Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, Founder of China’s L’antico Group Gina, rising fashion entrepreneur Christinna Kuan, former national gymnast Farah Ann, CEO of MyCreative Ventures Group Puan ZainAriah Johari, and renowned Malaysian singer-actress Aisha Retno. These awardees represent excellence across business, entertainment, sports, and the arts — a powerful showcase of women’s leadership and influence.

In her opening address, Datin Dr. Cherlin Cheah stated that women play a unique and irreplaceable role in business, and their intelligence, innovation, and leadership are crucial for building a more prosperous and sustainable future. YB Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Hajah Zurainah echoed this, emphasizing that the ShangHai Honourable Women Entrepreneur Business Awards not only celebrates women’s achievements but also highlights their outstanding leadership and positive contributions to the economy, society, and environment.

During the event, SBS Group also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with aW COMMUNICATIONS and ASM YAKIN BUSINESS ADVISORY, signifying the establishment of strategic partnerships across multiple domains. Through this collaboration, Wong Chui Ling, Founder of aW COMMUNICATIONS, will provide professional coaching to women entrepreneurs within the SHE platform, helping them enhance their public speaking skills and supporting their personal and professional development.

Additionally, the MoU appointed ASM YAKIN BUSINESS ADVISORY as the official property management partner for SBS DIGITAL MEDIA. This partnership aims to deliver efficient property management solutions and drive sustainable development in the business community, empowering entrepreneurs in the property sector.
